1968 Dodge GTS
1968 Dodge GTS
Newbie here and my first post. My neighbour is thinking of selling his GTS. He has owned it for 50 years and it is totally stock 340 automatic. He used it as a family car and raised all his children with it. He had it repainted 25 years ago and had some interior work done and has not really been driven more than a few miles each year. My problem isI am looking for a driver ( not a show car) and this car has no PS or PB or air conditioning as I would store the car in AZ. What I need to know is are new OEM PS, PB and air conditioning parts available and maybe an idea as to what the car would be worth? I would like to leave it as stock as possible. Thanks Bruce

I've seen them on the net for sale They aint cheap. 40K to 70K. What's he want for it?
I would check with Vintage Air for the A/C . You can get aftermarket parts that look original. I have an alternator on my VW 63 Bug and it looks like the original 6 volt generator., it's just better. Shhh don't tell anybody..

He is looking for $35K. I am a little worried that if all of a sudden the car starts to get driven more and more the transmission and possibly head gaskets start to act up. I doubt the anti freeze has been changed in 20 years!
Yeah. 35K is a lot of dead presidents for a car that may need a lot more $$$ thrown at it. At least in my book. I'm not saying he's out of line on his price but I'd think twice. myself . But I'm also a cheapskate. . .
