1972 Challenger help
I'm looking at a 1972 Dodge Challenger and I'm thinking about purchasing it. I would just like to know what anyone would say it's worth. Here are the details:
1972 Dodge Challenger.
Originally a 318 Engine.
Now has a 1972 440 HP engine.
Engine and transmission are in the car but not bolted up or connected.
4 speed manual transmission
6 pack hood.
Floors have absolutely no rust.
No carpet or headliner
Frame is in great condition
Underbody has hardly any rust, just some surface.
Car body has just been sandblasted and primed.
No body work needed.
South Carolina car all its life.
Original Trunk pan is in good shape.
Asking price is $6600
Can anyone tell me what they think this car is worth?

Does it have all the interior minus carpet and headliner? Any signs of previous body damage. All the glass good? Are all the trim with it?
What condition is the motor and 4spd, Did the suspension get upgraded T-Bars springs, Rearend 8 3/4?
Without seeing the car and more info it would be hard to put a price on it. The car would be worth looking into at that price. Figure what it's going to cost to get it on the road include your time and go from there.
If you can add some pictures.

Very good questions
Yes it has all the interior, but some if it isnt in great shape.
No previous body damage, when he did the sandblasting it hardly needed any other repairs.
All the glass is in and in good condition
I assume that the trim is with the car but im not sure
The motor and transmission is in working condition. Just needs to be hooked up and it will run.
I believe the suspension is original.

Docs right it's a Dodge Demon/Dart sport snorkle hood scoop. If I was going to buy it, I'd try $4500.00 and see what the lowest amout he will take. Check the prices in these links below to compare what your looking at.

Neal ...I would really worry about what this guy is saying about the whole car ! Calling that a 6 Pack scoop ... shows me that he does not know what he is talking about -- or he is lying about this or that.
BE careful.
413's suggestion ? ... would be the absolute max I would pay for that. Does the guy live close to you?

Meant to ask the body work that was done is it proffesional? My friend bought a GtX once an when we stripped it, we found that the bondo was being backed newspaper you push hard enough and it would fall off. Thier are people that are lousy at body work so be ware. From what i've seen. it looks good as a rebuilder If you want it you'll need to add what it willl cost to finsh. Dose it have a Ralley Dash. The car looks straight and if all the parts are there it may turn out to be a great ride
As a side note: Make sure to install a ground from the fire wall to the bell housing. Friend had trouble with spark under the car and it turned out to be the ground (Flat type wire) Good luck,
