340 Intake On 318 LA
I have come into possession of a 340 intake with a weber carb on it. I have a 1977 Dodge D100 and I had the truck running after it sat in a field for 11 years but it started to knock and consume oil at an incredible amount so I decided to pull the engine and rebuild it. As I said above I have a 340 intake and I'm wondering if that 340 intake will match up to my 318 2 barrel. I'm trying to make this truck fun for as cheap as I can so if I can avoid buying a new intake that would be awesome. I was told the 340 intake was from the early 70's (I know it's kind of broad, I should have asked for more info but I didn't.) Any help is appreciated greatly.

It wil work but the intake has larger ports than the 318 heads, do you have a photo of the intake?

i believe most the aftermarket intakes say 318/340/360, so while it might not be a scientific fit, it'll defintely do the job and well! i think youre fine, bud. :)

That’s what I figured but I thought I’d ask before I reassembled the engine. I’m not looking for a crazy perfect drag engine, just something that’s tastefully loud and has enough gumption to it to outrun a mail truck.
