440 help

Can anybody help with a motor build for a 66 satellite. I have a 73 440 with probably 8.5 compresson and I want to beef it up alittle. Planned on putting 915 heads on it with a elderbrock performer rpm intake 1500 to 6500 rpm not sure what size cam to use. I want to be able to hit the gas and see the smoke fly but I want the car to idle also. I am running a 3.91 8 3/4 rear any help appreciated. The motor is a standard bore dont know how many sets of stardard bore domed piston sets are out there cheap. may just leave the flat pistons in there and do what I just explained .Thanks

If you go for pistons plan to rebalance, while disassembled change bearings and so on. For now stay with stock short block add .75-1.0 point of compression with the 915s, depending on gasket. Have hardened seats added to those heads and get a good cam. Maybe later go for the piston full rebuild. Try Comp Cams Camquest6 program, be careful and don't over cam. Too many go way too big and kill there bottom end performance, stay conservative for a street car.
