Lost 3rd gear in my 727 push button, Want to upgrade to TCI super street fighter not a #s matching car. Just want a strong tranny, Stroked 440 dual edelbrocks 65 rear 489 with 390 gears d locker. Whats your opinion People around the Humble Tx area want about 15 hun to rebuild the one I have. I know I need to upgrade driveshaft also just wondering about the tranny

For the same money you can get one from A&A transmissions. Call them and ask for Rick Allison. That's where I got mine. There are few Mopar Tranny shops in the Houston area. Mine was like 1295.00 plus shipping.

If you have the stock shifter ? Have your trans rebuilt and updated.. Yours has the cable shifter THEY are sensitive to adjustment so it might pay to check it first.
If you go the TCI trans get a later style and change your shifter

Wow I thought $700 was a lot. Glad I learned how to rebuild them. Not really hard and a kit is under 200 bucks.

I have a cable shifter in my dart and my tranny came with the low band apply manual reverse valve body. You won't find that in a re-build kit.
