6v to 12v conversion

Has anyone done a 6v to 12v conversion, thinking about doing the conversion on my 1949 Chrysler windsor. Is it worth it? Pros and cons? Issues? Thanks in advance.

What are you trying to accomplish by going to 12V? The 6V system did it's job very well on these cars. To change over takes a lot of steps and won't improve a stock car. If you are having problems with it now raising the voltage will just be a band aid and could cause more problems like fires. One of the main problems I see with these cars is incorrect battery cables and loose or dirty grounds.
