After a-lot of help, I finally got it up this weekend. (pictures if you dare)

This weekend a friend of mine and I took the Dart to Cecil County Dragway again. We did some tuning earlier in the week and were anxious to see how the changes worked out. The ET's were still not where I wanted but it is definately leaving better. Best 60 foot was still only a 1.700 (almost 6's) and the run only netted mid elevens, but Mike (my tuning buddy) believes there are still 10's to be had without the Nitrous. With a 250 shot (currently jetted for) I should be well into the 9's. We weighed the car and to my dismay it is as overweight as I am. There will be some weight cutting this week. (I'l like to see about 200 pounds come out).

Anyway here is the picture of me "getting it up" It was actually a little higher but this was what the camera caught.

How much weight can you cut with a tubular k-frame and related parts? 3700 for a dart? you got bodies in the trunk? I dont know my darts that well, but I would have guessed ALOT less than that. Is that with driver too?

That is quiet a bit of weight for a bored and stroked SB in a Dart. have you weighted it on any other scales?

That was the scales at the track. Presumed pretty accurate. I thought the car would be about 3200 without me. I weigh about 250.

3700 is the car with me in it. without me is still 3450, unfortunately I can't run it that way. I am going to look for some places to take weight out this week. It is a street car with air conditioning, stereo, carpet, two seats, (no back seat) Door panels, complete dash...

I'm willing to listen to any suggestions. I can't afford the stuff like tubular K-frames. The price per pound saving is too tough for me right now. I am on a budget.

getting rid of the A/C and all its components should take off <100 lbs
but, you probably dont want to do that

the high weight is mainly from the roll cage
not sure if there is anything you can do that wont ruin the looks of the car

what do you have in the trunk?

Glad I decided to read this one. Looks nice and good to hear its getting dialed in better. The title scared me a bit though, just about passed over it.

What about replacing some of the panels and doors with fiberglass? I know that your on a budget, but that is one way to shed a lot of unwanted weight.
