Big announcement for MOPAR Fans!
Hello Everybody! Big announcement!
After several years of awesome success, I have decided to sell MoparFan. If you are interested in purchasing, please place a bid here:
https://flippa.com/2991332-moparfan-dodg...jeep-forum
What's included?
After many years of running MoparFan, I've moved on to many other projects and have become unable to spend the time needed by a forum. By passing on the keys, I hope to see the site thrive to a point that I could not accomplish with my schedule. Although I will no longer be the boss, I will still be an active part of the community as a member only.
How much does it cost to run a forum? Do I need IT experience?
The costs associated with running moparfan.com are quite low. Roughly $50 per year. This is generally covered by the advertisement revenue.
You don't need any special IT experience, although it is an asset. If you are able to browse this forum and post, then the learning curve for becoming an admin is not very steep.
What impact will this have on the current users?
That depends on who decideds to buy the domain and how they plan to run the site. It will be their choice. It's in the best interest of the purchaser to continue to run the site as-is.
When does the bidding close?
When I'm satisfied that the purchaser is genuinely interested and capable of running moparfan.com, the highest bid has been placed, and enough people have had a chance to place their bid. Assuming these criteria are met, bidding will end November 19, 2013.
I'd like to thank everyone that has been an active part of the MoparFan community and wish the highest bidder greatest success with the site.

Well, the site is not active, the link does not work, the auction is listed as ended, and who in their right mind would pay $650 for something that can't even be researched. I'm not trying to bash you here, but it just doesn't seem right, you list all the included items, although there is no way to verify them. How many members, of that how many are active? How about web stats... How many hits per month, what is the rate of growth in regards to new members? What software are you running? Advertising?? How many (paying) advertisers? What is the revenue generated from that? I know the domain is registered since 9/8/2010 but that's all there is. If it has been renewed for another year, why is it down? It's almost like buying oceanfront property in Utah, unless I can see it for my self I have to believe it doesn't exist. Again, not trying to bash, just trying to understand what it is that you are selling.

I always wonder about people who join a forum without any personal information or their location immediately trying to sell stuff.
Oh, and one that says himself that he is "not a car guy".
