block/head locating dowels

block/head locating dowels

what size are the locating dowels for a b/rb ???? do you think i can find them over here . man what a pain in the *** . are they the same as a small block chevy ?? is it 5/16 or .3125" ???? 3 days now i been trying to get them . stupid thing is a can't even get chev ones . all these ******'s can't go by size it's all part numbers . ???????????????????????? this is holding me back .

You can go to your local auto parts store and ask for roll pins. They'll have a cabinet full of various sizes which cost only a few cents each. Take a cylinder head with you so you can try one out for size. If you are building a performance engine, skip the dowels and buy a stud kit.

2 late
there 1/4 " not 5/16 & i made some out of 1/4 bolts still .010 to small so i flattened em out abit to make them tight . & i am using head studs . boggy but it worked
