Burn out story
 

So I finally got my Duster out of the garage, and I called up my great uncle to get his chevelle out. I wanted to for the first nice drive of the year.
He stopped up at Southern Motors "Old car sales place" to admire some of the old Detroit muscle. As he pulled out of the drive into the street, my uncle did a nice short burn out to start the trip!...

Well a police officer across the street did not seem as amused as I did lol He was instantly pulled over and given a Reckless driving ticket!! There was no traffic and my uncle didnt even go sideways.

He is 70 years old and this younger officer was not being nice in the least bit. I know we shouldnt be doing that stuff on the street but geeze!

So now my uncle is getting a 4 point ticket.

Just saying I didnt know that they could give that big of a ticket for something like a simple burnout. I do burnouts all the time, a police officer even encouraged me once to do one!

It is highly frown upon. I got a ticket in my early days with a 66 Coronet I don't remember exactly what he wrote but the main citation was for exhibition of speed. 50mph in a 25 zone and for leaving 50 ft of rubber shifting to 2th gear (auto).

Fight it in court and tell the judge You hit some unexpected water in the gutter

he's anxious to get his bust record large thats how they get promoted.

but it seems the older cops are more relaxed.
I had a cop pull me over for what he said was not a full stop at the stop sign.
i was following his squad car through the intersection...
I stopped.
so he pulled up into a subdivision entrance and let me pass then he pulled up behind me and did the deed.
His argument was he watched me in his rear view mirror while he was making a left turn WATCHING ME WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN.
Thats how i lost my 77 Diplomat...some lady made a left hand turn in front of me and i T-boned her. she said to me and the officer that she was looking in her rearview mirror at the guy behind her and never seen me coming.

Well after disagreeing with him for more than 30 min. he let me go.
all he did was irritate me and put another mark to the system this stuff adds up over the years... being hassled or seeing other s hassled.
the viral U-tube videos don't do the good cops any justice with all the abuse from the server and protect system!

Not sure where you are but take it to court. If he didn't exceed the speed limit nor loose control of the car then there is really no reason for the ticket.

Chirping of tires on the street is normal. If he layed out about 100 feet of rubber thats a different story.

Yeah I hope it was the officer just having a bad day lol Some people love squealing tires, and some people hate it I guess.

What I would do is go to court and tell the judge in a humble way you just got the car out and the gas pedal stuck for a second you have now got it fixed and lubed so it doesnt happen again. This cop must of been Billy Bad As-. what a jerk. probably jealous of the nice rides.

Luckily the cops in my area are pretty cool as long as you're not being an idiot in heavy traffic.

In most cases, when I get pulled over it's usually so they can checkout the car and take pix :)

Just a few months back, a bunch of them gathered around my '29 Five Window Coupe while I was filling up at a gas station and asked me to pull into the nearby parking lot and show them the flamethrowers :cool:

Around here the law is as soon as your tires break traction, it is considered failure to maintain proper control. 90% of cops won't hassle you unless you're just being an idiot, shoot most of them get a kick out of it too, but then there's that other 10%. I got pulled over and ticketed for failure to maintain proper control back in the 80's in my '70 'Cuda when the douche nozzle heard my rear tires chirp as I turned a corner. The Dana 60 had a spool in it...
