which cylinder heads for 400 cui
Hello there,
I'd like to swap the cylinder heads on my '74 400 cui engine, to make it more efficient.
Something like the edelbrock e-street heads with the small combustion chambers.
I learned, that these heads are low quality, but the others do not come with small combustion chambers.
Do you guys have some recommendations?
Later on I want to swap my carburetor and distributor to an efi system, but not now.
I already use a performer intake and maybe I'll buy a voodoo 10230701LK.
There is also a kit with this cam and springs and stuff, but I will make a decision based on your opinions.
I also need to know what can be reused (rockers?) and what I have to look out for (what head gasket for an aluminum head, spark plugs, screws...).
The reason I want new aluminum heads is efficiency. (so weight, compression...).
EDIT: Oh, I also redialed the distributor some time ago, because of the low compression. I used one of these plates in it. I guess I have to redial it again?
