Do I need an Oil Temperature / Warning Gauge?

I'm restoring a 1975 Dodge Power Wagon W100

The only oil gauge on the stock instrument cluster is a Single Red Warning light. I believe it was designed to turn on around 8psi Oil Pressure

I was thinking of installing a 20psi Sender Unit to turn on this light as an early warning.

Now the question is, should I install a 270deg Oil Temperature sender unit to also trigger the warning light. However, all of the Temp senders I can find are 1/2npt thread and I can't find an afforable way to install both types of senders, since the stock stuff is all 1/8 npt

If my oil were to ever get to 270deg would I be able to tell from my coolant temperature gauge that something was wrong?

Ideally I'd like to work around the oil temperature stuff as the stock truck didn't come with it, just need to know the limits of my engine coolant gauge.

Any advice is appreciated.

You'd really need to weld a bung into the sump to get true oil temp reading. A remote filter kit may have a provision to screw in a bulb.
