Easy Mopar history question
So was the Coronet the precursor to the Super Bee or was there just a Super Bee series of it or what?

I let somebody borrow a book that might have the answer to this question. I don't think ill ever get it back
But I believe that the Super Bee is a series of it. Until the third gen. Charger came along. Don't take that to court.

Basically, the Coronet was a long running series, like the Satellite. When Plymouth got the Road Runner based on the Satellite, Dodge needed their own model to compete. They took a Coronet and gave it the "road runner" treatment, and viola, you have the Super Bee. The name was kinda a play on it being a "b" body platform, plus they didn't have to pay Warner Bros for the use of the name.
