Good For him.... Knows when things are going south....

Morning. Good weather here, yesterday went to Grand Bend Dragway for what was advertised as a big event, did see some fuel cars and pro mods but was not what I'd hoped for or had experienced previous years. Attendance was low and call to lanes was disorganised making long waits between classes. Was nice being with my sons but it's clear to me high end drag racing is dying in Canada.

The boys say we must go to U.S. Nationals before I'm gone, it's been 39+40 years that I went there with my Father then a good friend.

Hope everyone is well.

Good Morning Y'all..... Hope all has been well?.... Been out of town in the nice State of Washington up in Oak Harbor visiting our youngest Granddaughter. The trip was awesome. Not to much smoke from the B.C. Canada fires. "I wish those folks the best and hope all turns out well for them" Very sad for some of there losses.

Now that I am Home, I have a boat load on the to-do list to catch up on.

Dan, I would love to go to the U.S. Nationals... That would be sooooo Cool. But I dont think I'll get it checked off my bucket list. Will just have to wait and see. lol
Hope you had a great time with the kid at any rate. Family time is always good. and the races are a great place to pick up new ideas for your projects!!!
Hope the cars are comming along well? Still waiting to see those photos...
Best Wishes... Cheers / Pop's Eh!!!!!

Morning. Off this week painting windows and repairing columns with Shawn. Tomorrow is Moparfest. My car is not near where I'd hoped it would be at this time but your right, I should start posting some photos, I'll talk to Shawn about it as he is more computer savy than I.

Might go to Moparfest with my Chevy buddy with the 1955 Plymouth Savoy. He bought another one for parts that came with a Poly and a 241 Hemi he plans to put the Hemi heads on the Poly which I didn't know was possible but it is with the old first ones.

Good Morning-dsc_1422.jpg

Good Morning-dsc_1446.jpg

Good Morning-dsc_1546.jpgSure Have.... Many time.... Bakersfield or also Known as The Patch, Bake'O, Smokers Meet, Famoso and some others....
It's about a 2-1/2 - 3 hour drive from me. But i have family that live up in that area. Tom I have not been to the races in recent years... But I have been and also participated in events at that track.. Hot Rod Reunion, March Meet, Nitro Nights, Nitro Drag Bikes, Big Bud Warm Up, Antique Nationals, and so on and so forth... If you ever / ever get the change to go. You will not be let down. it is quit a show. I went for about the first 15 years. But with when the wife became Ill, I sold off all my rides and have just been sitting here on the P.C.
Irwindale Drag Strip (An 1/8 mile track) is only about 1/2 mile from my home, and i have not been to that track but maybe a hand full of times scene I offed my last ride 10 years ago.
Anyway... Its the place to see things like, Pure Haven A/FA, The Winged Express A/FA, The Hustler, Randy Walls, The Hawaiian, And on and on. You can get up close and shack hands with Steve Gibbs, Rolland Leong, Cruz Petrigon, Bucky Austin, Tom Lemon, And I could go on and on. A Great Time for sure, Folks Like Keith Rooman come from Assies ville for this show. Got friends from Illinois that come out just to watch and help out.
Now, I'll let you in on some of the tough stuff... Lots of walking. Parking can be challenging and you have to hike in if you dont show up not so early.
Hotels fill up fast and can be somewhat of a drive to get too. Some times like 1 hour away.
But if you love old Nostalgic Stuff... Worth the trip...
Here are just a few from a few years back.

Good afternoon everyone. I finally had the time and resources to add some running boards to my truck. Been looking around at different options and decided on the OE Mopar silver chrome boards. Here's what I picked out https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...2211697ae.html

Replacing parts

I'll be replacing my daughters valve cover gaskets and power steering pump tomorrow morning instead of going to work. So, I expect a great morning. Much better than work.

Doing the long days too. Three more years till retirement if I wait till 66. Now I'm beginning to consider early retirement. I never used to look forward to it. Now I count the days.
