Holley Carb Draining into Intake
When I started my engine cold, it ran for a moment, then started to die, as if flooded. Going over to the front of the car I can hear the gasoline draining into the intake.
Anyone know why that might happen? I don't have reason to suspect a bad powervalve yet, but I'm still investigating. Thanks. |
Holly neddle and seats have a tendency to stick when dirty, try giving them a clean and adjust the floats.

I had leaking issues at the front and just replaced the accelerator pump diaphragm, which seems to have stopped that leak, but now I get fuel under the rear accelerator pump. This carb was purchased 10 years ago from a rebuilder, and doesn't have a lot of running time on it. It had been great until I tried to start the car last fall and got the flooding issues. |
I've never had any luck storing carbs, i generally put a kit in them before I use them again after sitting.

Assuming the carb is intact (and I agree a rebuild might be in order), you did check the float levels, right (assuming a Holley)? Archer |
