how to adjust kickdown linkage to tranny

How do you adjust the linkage from the carb to the tranny. This is in a 78 cordoba with a 400, thermal quad, and a 727 trans?

With the engine off, push the throttle wide open. This should push the kickdown all the way back. Adjudst from there. If it kicks down too soon back it off a little, easy as that.

It is best to have someone step on the pedal from inside as opposed to WOT from the carb linkage. There may be a difference in the two.

Little fuzzy on shift pionts --- 15-20mph and 25-30mph (I think).

Good thought. There should be no difference but sometimes there is. While doing this be sure you are getting WOT (wide open throttle) with the pedal. Have someone press it to the floor and then manually push the throttle open to be sure it is in fact opening all the way. I have seen many that think the car is supercharged after getting to use all four barrels. If the pedal is not opening the carbs all the way you may be running your hot rod at half throttle.
