How to screw up an American Classic (the Malaysian style) :(

This is what MOST Malaysian do to their Ameican cars...

This is not a Mopar I apologize... but ... I felt like slapping this dude's face man...

Good thing it was a C*$%Y then. LOL

It is sad to see that this is how they are. Thing is though, they did not grow up with these vehicles and do not understand "American Classic/Muscle". I'm by no means defending them though.

I'm sure that if it were a Mopar, there would be an angry mod (led by Polaradude) knocking down their front door.

Remember the saying "Horsepower gives you top speed, but its the torque that gets you there..."

Im surprised to see a live dog in the pic.

Actually, it's the better part of Asia. I have friends from China, Korea and Phillipins (sp), and Cambodia. All have said that it is in their culture to eat dog amoung other US house hold pets.

Im loving this post :)

I've heard and read about Korea and Cambodia, but as far as I know, not in Malaysia.. we are pet lovers, just like any western countries.

Anyway, while we're talking about Korea, I remember when I was at USC, there was an American couple walking his/her dog near "Korea Town LA" and I smiled at them and said "Sir, this is the last place you wanna walk your dog...as the Hot Dogs here are made of REAL DOG MEAT..." then I left...

:P

mmmm..free range dog

78D200 08-10-2010 02:48 AM

Highjack - I have a friend (I know, shocking! LOL) that I work with. His wife is from the Philippians and she has eaten dog (unknowingly though) and she has some family/friends that are Malaysian how use to eat dog, cat, etc.

High jack over.

I'm glad they did that with a C*%&y and not a Mopar. If you find any pics of something like this but a Mopar, please do not post it. Just send the address to Polaradude and he'll take care of it from there.

Highjack again - Couple of things though about that T*%&$a motor - 2.5L? If that is true, I'd hate to see how small those 6 pistons are. But I know a lot of guys that are running T*&#$a motors in their 4 wheeing rigs and love them.

Highjack over again.

I like the way you lead us into that one-for the first few pictures I wondered what the problem was because the car looked fairly stock...

then the shot of the Toyo motor-that baby must be screaming when he tries to merge on a highway.

And this time a Caddy (Also brightly colored)...

1966sportfury 08-14-2010 09:26 AM

thats funny, they must be cheaper to build than a V8,
the rb25 is a good engine tho, i dont know if a caddy is the right choice

67Polara 08-14-2010 09:02 PM

ah well, $h!t happens, least its not a mopar =p

WonderBar Tech 08-18-2010 12:16 PM

That's just a skosh more than 1/3 the displacement of the fine 7L mill it came with. Yuck. Maybe they could flag down a ship headed to Red China full of old American cars and pluck the right mill before it's melted down and shipped to Wally's as a bicycle.

BTW, I used to have a 1-gallon gas can that said "Datsun Saves". Don't think this is what they meant.

Sangetsu 08-22-2010 08:15 PM

I notice that the "Chevy" is a right-hand drive model, so it was probably made for the Australian market. In Asia it is actually quite hard to find SBC parts, and when you do find them they tend to be expensive. Since 80% of the cars on the road are Japanese in origin, it is popular (and less costly) to use Japanese components.

An acquaintance of mine has an old flat-fender Jeep powered by a Daihatsu turbo diesel engine. In his case it was an upgrade, the diesel puts out far more horsepower than the old Willy's engine, and it uses half as much fuel.

MoparOnly 08-23-2010 06:38 PM

So that's Malaysia's version of hot rodding here in the states. Here they stuff SBCheb's into anything and everything. I quit reading Car Craft back in the mid 80's when I saw a 350 shoved into a 70 Challenger.
I can sort of see the turbo diesel for the flat head swap. Better power, fuel mileage, parts easier to find over there.

Mr.Duster 08-24-2010 11:13 AM

They can keep the all the chevy's they want :). lol maybe thats the only motor they had
