I help with a few details
I recently bought a '68 Satellite. Big Block car with power steer, power brakes and air. there are a few things I need to work out though. the brake pedal seems to be closer to the floor than what I would have thought. can someone give me a measurement from the bottom of the pedal to the floor? looking under the dash it looks to be all the way up to the brake light switch. I wonder if the linkage is wrong. it also does not have the best brakes. it is like the piston in the master cylinder is bottoming out too and stopping pedal travel rather than the wheel cylinders stopping it. it looks as though the booster and master cylinder have been replaced with rebuilt parts from the parts house. has anyone run into anything like this before? the trans sometimes after going from reverse to drive, once you touch the gas it has a big jerk, like one of the clutch packs or a band is not getting good pressure until it gets off idle. I know the kick down linkage is not yet correctly set. will this solve that problem or do I need to look to something else? once in drive and engaged it works fine and shifts fine. I have to replace the leaking heater core. any good tips or tricks on doing this?
Thanks,
David

I could also use some photos of the top of the dash. someone had covered the dash pad with velour and covered all the way to the windshield covering the defroster vents and speaker grill. hopefully it will be easily removed and I can install a Dash Cap over the pad but it still am not sure what the top should look like. not a lot of these cars running around to compare to.
