Insurance stuff
Guys -
Not exactly "Mopar" related, but well, sorta. Guess most of us with vintage Mopars have them insured with one of those classic car companies. Was thinking about getting a 70's era car as a daily driver. The regular insurance companies won't touch a car that out and the classic guys seem to want proof that the car isn't a daily driver.
So any way of LEGALLY getting a vintage car insured as a daily?
Tks

I have mine on my regular policy but have a stated value, so no suprises if something ever happens. I have no milage limit and I could drive it everyday if I wanted. For a couple of old cars I think I pay $25-30/month and that is with values of 12K and 20K.

Thanks for the info, gonna look into it! Right now my daily driver is a 98 Sebring, and while I kinda like it, still rather go with something "more familiar" ...

My 67 GTX clone is covered by Farmer's insurance. Currently, I have the minimum legal as it is not on the road yet. Once on the road (nexy week!!!) I am going with a stated value policy where I can drive up to 6,000 miles a year and no restrictions on "prades and car club eventsonly" through America Insurance Corp. I told them what I wanted and they want and shopped for me to get the right policy for only $400 a year.

A little off the subject, but not really. We insure our race cars with K & K. They are covered everywhere except going down the racetrack... At home in the garage, or in the trailer, at the track or going down the road. You chose the dollar value of the car. Also the engine is another separate value... I also have my tools, tool boxes, generator and golf cart covered. Either in the garage or in the trailer... This coverage costs app $50.00 per $1,000. Only problem is they have a $1,000 min. But with the Barracuda and Drag Pak cars we more than meet the min....

and mopardrt you may think its ok to have less in the vehicle than insured for , but the question is, can you buy another for that value, in the same or better shape than what you have? It's the REPLACEMENT cost you have to really think about, and as we all know Mopars aren't getting any cheaper, to build or to buy....

I also use USAA, I got it on all my vehicles, pretty cheap too I think about 300 a year for the Cordoba as I say I won't drive it too much. Also save money on registration as I have it down as historic in NJ
