What color was the bed wood in a 1978 lil red express? Thanks

I’ve seen everything from marine varnish, automotive urethane to clear epoxy.

I think I'm going to use marine spar varnish. Thanks

I Agree Marine Varnish (Clear UV) or Industrial Clear UV Varnish... Marine Varnish last a long time, But it dose have a yellow tint to it for some reason, However it may have changed because of Environmental Regulations sense I have used it? Last one I coated with it lasted approx. 15 Years out in the SO-CAL weather...
Good Luck >> Keep Us posted on the outcome !!! Cheers

Memories of wood, I recently talked with an old girl friend from 1996 and found out she's still mad at at me after all this time. Hell all I did was merry my now x wife...

I would sand the oak with 220 grit on a DA before applying the finish, blow all the grain clear of dust then use a tack rag and follow the instructions on the product...
good luck and show us a few pictures of your project...
Better yet start a build thread!
