which is more desirable for a 70 cuda?
 

I would love opinions on the desirability of an original 70 cuda V code convertible with a date coded 440 engine versus a 70 cuda convertible with a matching numbers 383 engine. assume the condition of both cars is the same. Also, which one do people consider a better long term investment.

You're kiddin me, here, right? A V code, even if it's not a matching block, if done otherwise correctly, should be worth WAY more money

A date coded block would probably be just as well. A warranty block is exactly what the name implies -- "back when" the car was under warranty the owner ruined the block, and the factory replaced the block/ short block/ long block on warranty. So the numbers no longer match.

Back before the "big financial crash" I've seen Cuda sixpack and hemi BODIES WITHOUT an engine go for nearly as much as a running 383 car.

Did you say this is a ragtop? I'll bet there weren't all that many made. Make sure they are "legit" and not a "rebody."

it is a real convertible. according to production stats only 29 v code convertibles were produced of which 12 were auto. it is legit and documented

In that case I don't see any possible way that a 383 car would ever be worth more money.
