NADA states 3700 fair/8700 excellent condition[i use them as a ballpark idea] i would try to go no higher than 2000 or 2500 tops start at 1500 73/74 cars are not that popular thats a low horse 340 use every excuse in the book to haggle price, good luck, looks like it could be a very clean car under all that dirt.

The 340 its self is worth about 1200 around here I'm not sure if its because of gas prices. The car you found looks like a good start to a really nice car. I personally would start out with a 1500 dollar offer just go from there no more than 2500 like stated above good luck

I believe its a 318. No 340 ever came with a 2Bbl carb. It also appears to have single exhaust also not available on a 340. Check the sides of the block, should have 340 cast there and also stamped on the front of the block below the Pass. Head. Whats the 5th digit of the vin ?

Exactly my thoughts, also
Ditto , not a 340, quarters rough, not a bad car but needs total restored finding a 340 will be spendy and will never be a high dollar mopar offer 1000-1500 if it were a 1970(more popular) in this condition I would say 3000-4500 missing the 340 carb and hp manifolds. just my opinion.

It may be a 340
looks like it has duel ex to me, but if so its low-per 340 not like the 1970 hi-po and would need interals redone along with the rust & body work , great project though if the price is right. Dont over pay you can buy a restored one with the right motor turn key for 9-12 K. regards CD

A few things caught me by surprise here, first the carb not on a 340 ever will you find anything less that 4 barrels and on that vintage it would be a TQ. Second would be the rear, a performance car without the 8.75 doesn't seem correct but it might be... If there is a fender tag, that will tell the whole story, it should match the VIN on the dash and the door and the rad support too.

Look at the engine mounts, 340 has a narrow and more beefier motor mount on one side. I can't remember which side. but you will be able to tell the difference. Someone will shout the right answer.
