Need New Machinist
My machinist that I have been going to since I started rebuilding motors just sold out of his shop and is going to retire, none of the other shops around town do quality work. Since I will have to ship my engine out of town to get the machine work done correctly, I was just wondering who you go to, and what you think of their work.

Its always a sad thing when a relationship ends. Maybe he had his guys do most of the work, and he was the front-man. Might want to seek out his employees, as they were trained by him. I lost my barber recently, I feel your pain. Every time I came in, he'd give me a straight-razor shave, I'd be good for 3 days!

The guy I use does really good work, but he is an absolute flake about when it will be done and how much it will cost, so I would not share his name with you. He has done his last work for me. I will be looking for a new machine shop as well. Good luck on your hunt!

Well he only had one employee, who is actually retireing as well. He did run his own side project but other people were months uppon months out on getting their stuff back. Like 67's machinist he is a bit of a flake on due dates. Thanks for the idea, but Ill still need to go out of town/state.

Well I am in the same proverbial boat. THE place to go to up here in the Seattle area for multi-carb motor builds...well...the machinist just retired.
Anyone know anyone good up in this neck of the woods?
GTX, I know a guy in Oregon City who has a GREAT machinist. If you want, I can make contact and get the guy's name and phone number for you. I'm sure he's up in the Greater Portland Metro area though. A bit of a drive, but I might have to make the drive south for the same reason.
