New here, approx. value of 340 heads?
Hi folks. I have "the remains" of a 318 in my old Landcruiser, but it has the '71 high compression heads off my old 340. Has old set of Cal Custom aluminum covers, 273 rockers and pushrods, set up for solid lifters.
Hasn't run in some 5 years, undoubtedly needs going through. Looking for some idea of value of the heads
I also have the stock '71 intake for the 340, used a Thermojunk orginally (spreadbore.)
These are high compression 10-10.5 or whatever they were, they are NOT the lower compression smog heads
I also have a 340 bare block that was once bored ? 60? over. Not sure what I have left in other parts.
Again, looking for your opinions of average (U.S.) value

Don't remember, and don't really want to pull the covers at this time--winter is coming on, here.
I DO KNOW the history of these heads--I bought this engine from a junkyard in about '73 with 20,K on the 340. It was a '71, high compression engine
By the way, I put this in my (what was originally) '70 440 sixpack RR, and ran it for a number of years. Chrysler REALLY screwed up, in my opinion, by not developing this engine in the B bodies sooner. It got GREAT mileage, and was a real blast to take on some stock 383 and then watch the dropped jaws as that huge 440 hood came open and exposed that 'ittle 'bitty engine down there.
I did this at the time because----
The "first" gas crunch was developing and I wanted better mileage for my "main" car
I had a used 440 in the '70 after the demise of the orginal
I wanted to build the 440 and put it in my 64
I was never sorry I swapped the 340 in.

Don't see many 340 heads anymore. I live in the south and the dirt track racers pretty much used them up. When they were buying alot of them they got really pricey. The heads got so scarce that they jumped ship. I have sold several sets before but it has been several years.
