Paint and body- colors?
Well its finally time to get the body and paint work done to my 72 charger and well... i have no idea what i want. i was thinking of a dark blue, maroon, or maybe even dark green but im not sure yet I am even tossing around the plum crazy (or slightly darker purple.) w/ black roof idea but i dont want it to be too over the top or tacky. (although it is a 440 charger, lol.) Dark blue is the safest color but their are a lot of classics that are painted that way. i was also thinking about whether or not to add a black bumble bee stripe around the back or not. i know the stripe is not original but it looks cool although i will probably not get it because 1. i dont want it to look cheap or cheesy and 2. my car is lifted 5 inches in the back so it has a serious rake and the stripe would be crooked anyways. I am just building a fun street car out of it and really dont want it to look really modern... i want it to maintain its vintage appeal. Anyways. and suggestions or pictures? any help would be nice.

I like the plum Crazy as you might guess. Even if the bumble bee stripe is not correct for your year, I think they always look cool. You are at a very fun point in your restoration, enjoy making the choices!!!!

The more i think about a dark purple with a black roof the more i like it. seams lik it would give people something to talk about. I really like black too but then i feel like people will be looking for the imperfections.

The car was originally a baby blue 318... not the meanest street car. But now with he 440 and big tires and all i want to go for something meaner. I like reds too but im afraid cops will notice it even more than they already might. Its such a fun thing to think about but a hard decision. Ill post picks when its all said and done (which may be a while yet.)

I think when cops pull over a classic muscle car, sometimes it is just to check it out. Like they tend to give out a warning ticket. An old Challenger is going to "stick out" no matter what color it is painted. If it were me, Lemon Twist Yellow. Hey, it might prevent an accident, and that could be a good thing.
