OK guys I have a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyways cause I don't know. On my '68 Coronet I am trying to decide which hood I'm gonna get for it. I really like the lift off hoods and ram air hoods. But I want this car to be an every day driver except for in ice and snow of course. But if I were to put either one of those hoods on it would I have a problem with rain getting sucked down the carb? I really like both of those hoods because they are functional.

I have drivin my 69 1/2 440 6Bbl. Road Runner in some very heavy rain. Of coarse the air cleaner seals to the hood and drains the water thru drain holes with 90 degree hoses away from the engine. The Pontiac TAs I owned fuctioned in a simular way with the Shaker scoop they used. I think with a ramcharger air cleaner and some foam you could make it work. These hoods are cool but a real pain to take off and on when you need to access your engine...Unless you have a friend handy....LOL

It's really up to you, I have a '73 cuda with the open aar hood, been caught out in the rain quite a few times and it has not been a problem. But I do have a K&N filter on it,not the paper element.
Thank you guys for the help. I still don't know lol. May just go with the power bulge hood so I don't have to worry about it. A guy contacted me yesterday wanting to trade me his 70 coronet for mine. I'm probably gonna do it, I have always loved the 70 models and they are a lot more scarce than 68 and 69. And it will save me the decision on the hood cause I already know I would want the power bulge hood on that one lol. That 70 power bulge is a mean looking hood.
BTW you guys should see a movie called "Locked Up" with Sylvester Stallone, its an old one but its good. At the beginning of the movie it has a 70 coronet R/T that is bad A$$, thats not a car you see in too many movies.
I have one more question, the 70 this guy has come out with a slant 6. It still has it in it, I know its probably pretty rare but probably worth less at the same time because of that. Anyways is the suspension any different than a small block suspension? Would I have to change the k frame and torsion bars to put a small block or big block in it... or a new hemi? lol the new hemi was my plan for the 68. I have no clue what the new hemis weigh in at.

I'm not tryin' to belittle you, but to be honest, you don't sound from your post that you have much experience.
While putting a sb/ bb in these cars is a "bolt in" IF IF you have the "right parts" a 3rd generation hemi is NOT simple, nor cheap.
You pretty much need special --expensive--aftermarket oil pan headers, etc, and then either have to convert the engine to carb or deal with the EFI, none of which is for the faint of heart.
I'm fixing up a 67 Dart and have been in/ out of electronics all my life. Even I finally dumped the idea of a hemi and IN FACT decided that because I won't drive that many miles on this car, even decided against an EFI 5.2 or 5.9 swap --my original plan.
In my case, 'xample, I'm sticking with "traditional" 360 LA/ 727, single 4bbl. Late Dart discs in front, 9" Ford with discs in rear. 'S a driver, not a show car.
