RTE Voltage limiter question???
So I just got my new limiter in the mail but I realize that the mounting tab doesn't have that extra tab for what I believe is a ground. What do I do with that wire? Does anyone know what its for?Attachment 8469

A screw goes through that tab to secure it right? Sounds like a ground to me, but I'd feel better about hearing it from the manufacturer. It didn't come with any paperwork?

if the case is steel regular solder does not stick well to steel. but silver solder will stick good. i have seen an artical on putting a 7505 ic chip in the case to get good voltage control. but i cant find it. sorry.

Oh Come on guy's !!!!!
Cut the tab off your old one, at the base.. and just remount it piggy back to the bracket.... one on top of the other... then you can hook the wire back up... |

On a side note, take this opportunity to check through your cluster.......................... Check and repair as necessary the cluster connector pins which can become loose and break On cars with a "plug in" IVR the connector fingers may not be contacting the board. "Re" tighten the gauge stud nuts back and forth Add a dedicated ground to the cluster. Most cars were grounded--"maybe" through the cluster mounting screws. |
