Glad to hear you're taking it out of hibernation. The miracle oil is a good idea. We just did this with one of my dad's projects last week- this is how we did it. If theres gas in the tank, its definitely bad by now. Drain out all the gas if theres any in there. Check all your underhood fluids, with your engine oil and coolant being the main concern. Changing your oil and filter is also not a bad idea. You may also want to get new spark plaugs, but its up to you. Check your plugs at the least. A new fuel filter is also a good idea. Disconnect your coil wire when you first try to turn it over. It's important to get the oil flowing beforehand to achieve proper lubrication. Also at this time, you can disconnect your fuel line after the pump and have a buddy ready with a coffee can, to catch any old gas that may be in your fuel lines. I always like to do this, as the fuel left in the lines will be the first gas into the carb. This will also give you a perfect opportunity to test for spark, by letting the electricity arc from your coil wire to the intake manifold- but be sure and do it BEFORE you try to purge any bad gas from your fuel lines. Wouldnt want to see that cuda get cooked Don't crank it for more than 10 seconds at a time, and let it rest inbetween. After youve turned it over a couple times, reconnect your coil and pour just a little gas down your carb. After it fires, let it idle for a bit before you give it any more rpms, so your top end can get oiled properly. Its not uncommon for a car that's been sitting for a while to have a noisy lifter when you first start it, but that should go away when the lifter gets oil to it. If you hear any prolonged knock or tick, shut it down. Just be careful and i'm sure you'll be alright. Remember that starting car in your situation can ruin a good motor if the proper procedures aren't taken. Good luck!
