Tow vehicle

I want to use a 20 something Charger to tow a travel trailer of 3500lbs. I've looked at their tow cap. of 1000lbs, now the Durango with the same drive train(engine, trany) has a tow cap of 4,575-5,331. After viewing the specs for both(height, width, length) the only major differences I see are the Durango is 12" taller and 800lbs heavier. What am I missing besides maybe beefier suspension and bigger brakes ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's like compairing grapes to grapefruit, full frame solid rear axle compared to unit body that s probably 26 gauge, independent rear suspension with that Mercedes diff..

There is Also a frontal square foot limit on tow vehicles, the Durango might not cut it ether. There or more forces at play than just a 3500 pound dead pull, I think it would be foolish to try.

One more thing, you need to have ten percent on the hitch or 350 lbs. Put 350 lbs of your buddy's on the back of your fully loaded car and see how it looks.
