VIN # and production dates?

Can anyone tell me how to tell or find the production date from the VIN # or fender tag? Does the sequence number have anything to do with build date? Need the informatio for 68 Furylll and 72 Barracuda.

Thanks, Tom

The fender tag will tell the production date, as well as the broadcast sheet. VIN tag will not.

You'll have to decode tag or hope that the broadcast sheet isnt damaged.

Broadcast sheet is USUALLY found in either part of the back seat.

Sequence has nothing to do with production date. It just tells in what order it was built.

Good find!

Thanks for asking this question Tom.... As a new Mopar owner of an old 65 Belvedere II, I was about to start searching on how to decipher the codes myself.....

another one to try

I tired the VIN decoder above,, not much on my car VIN.
I found this one that actually provided a bit more info.

Is there a decoder for the fender tags?

Thanks, RB
