Question weird carb.

My car will start up and drive good, then when I turn it off and try to restart nothing. I pulled the air cleaner and pushed throttle and no gas comes out. I open the carb and clean it out and now it gets gas and starts and drives. I stop again and try to restart and no go. Pulled aircleaner and no gas coming out. Could it be a bad accelerator plunger causing this?

its a brand new fuel pump, i think its my accelerator plunger, maybe it dosent have a good enough seal to pump the gas. If i pump it fast alot, it puts gas in the engine and allows me to start it.
