what would be best ?
so i have a bit a problem, i'm doing an engine swap with my Polara and my truck. my radiator is starting to go south on the Polara so i went to pull itbut i'm having problems getting the trans lines off, one of the nuts is striped so idk what to do there =/
but my next problem is that the trucks radiator wont fit in my car :( and the water pump outlet in on the wrong side of the engine, so should i the old radiator and get aflexable hose or buy customfit radiator ? |
For your bottom tranny line, use a set of vice grips to get the rounded off fitting loose, then replace it with a compression union from Lowes/ Home Depot. Make sure you use a wrench to hold the other hex head so it won't turn .
As to the radiator, you can get them with outlets on either side, top or bottom, from most any parts store, and I don't know about the small block engines, but big block engines also offer a water pump housing with the outlet on either side as well. I think the change point from driver's side to passenger side outlet was about 72 or so. |
If you have a rad shop near you its cheaper to have your old 1 recored, then you can get a few more rows added for cooling. ive installed the new rads for other people and most of the time they dont last more then a year they start leaking or the sauder around the top tank gives. and the cores are cheap to begin with.
