Well guys, thought some of you would enjoy these pics. *My dad has had it at least since I was born in 81. *It's been in the shed for about 20 years now. *It needs a full Restoration but my dad never seems to want to do anything with it, and he doesn't wanna let me do anything to it because he knows I will modernize it and paint it black, so here she sits.......FOR NOW.
It's a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE, motor is now a 440, (426) block is also somewhere in the shed. *It's the Cuda back window, the roof center console, power everything, not for sure but my buddy looked at it and said it has the Specialty VIN number like the Cuda's, Bee's, Superbirds, ect. *Hope you guys enjoy. That is an awesome car!
I can't speak for anyone else on here but I for one am with your dad. That car does not deserve to be "moderized". That car deserves to be restored to its glory as an R/T and driven like it was stolen. I think you would be surprised as to the raw power of that car compared to your turbo and super charged trucks. If you were closer to NH, I know of a certain wife that would love to have that car, restore it and drive it with all its greatness. |

Modernize it or restore it, they look cool eather way, once you break it loose from your dads hands it will be your decition. But a tribute to dad would be cool

I, too had my own R/T - SE model 1970 Challenger, hence with the 426 HEMI 4 Sp Pistol Grip 410 DANA Posi Rear. Your's from what I saw in another post with the VIN posted has it being a 383. Being even older, I believe, than your father, I would not part with it either. Matter of factly, I would be rebuilding it to it's stock configeration. More than likely this would garner more $$$ in an auction. But, that said I would also turn it into the HEMI version with a 426. I know that this being the R/T SE model it had the Rallye Gauges with the Tach & a 160 mph speedometor. Would this be correct? Whatever you do decide to do, once Dad relinguishes it properly, stay within the boundaries of a Classic Muscle Car. This is my 1st post after doing some research of the HEMI motor that led me here. As you see here in this photo, taken in 1970 no less, mine was Red with white SuperBee Stripes & Vinyl Top with Red Interior & R/T Hood with scoops made functional. And, yes mine came with the Rear Deck Spoiler!
