Here is my 01 2wd dakota.

3.9 V6
5 spd manual tranny
9.25 rear axle
Alpine head unit
MSD coil
8mm wires
Flowmaster 40 series muffler
JET programmer
custom air intake with K&N filter
roll pan rear bumper

This is an older pic of it (last year I think).

I've also got a 10" rockford P3 sub and an Alpine 500w mono amp that will be getting a custom box where the center conseal is now.

challenger 02-07-2009 11:10 PM

I have always been fond of the silver color and was thinking of painting the challenger that with dark gray barbwire pin striping but leaning more at a burnt orange and silver striping but to many colors to choose from :D bet you get decent milage out of it dont you ??

78D200 02-08-2009 05:38 AM

Oh yes I do. I average between 21 to 25 MPG depending on how fast I feel like going. I normall drive 55 MPH on the highway to work so I can get some good milage (about 400+ miles) on one tank of gas.

hey have you seen the competition plus shifter hurst makes for your truck?

78D200 02-16-2009 04:26 PM

I have not. Do you have a link for it?

johnthegoalie 02-16-2009 04:48 PM

here it is. my dad has one on his 4.7l 5spd ram - it is really a great upgrade. wish they made one for my 6spd.

Only problem is, that won't fit my tranny. I don't have the 3500 5 spd. There were two trannies offered behind the 3.9L in the Dakota's.

Unfortunitely I can not remember what they were off the top of my head. I know one was the AX15 though.

johnthegoalie 02-16-2009 06:53 PM

if you have the ax-15 :D

forgot to mention, im good at helping people spend their money :D

I'll have to have someone run the VIN to figure it out. The Dakota getting parts now is just out of the question. With a J10 that I am finishing up and a Valiant showing up this weekend, I won't have much money for the Dakota unless something breaks.

johnthegoalie 02-17-2009 06:45 AM

thats why you have the parts shipped to your work... ;)

72RDRNR 02-17-2009 12:11 PM

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one that uses work for parts shipments! Gotta love money orders and work addresses!!!

johnthegoalie 02-17-2009 12:16 PM

no pesky shipping boxes and packages to hide until garbage day and half the time the part is on before you get home. it's not like she will notice any differences in your ride. paypal is good too, like a little swiss account :D

If you need audio advice ive been hard-core since 94,.

78D200 02-18-2009 02:05 AM

The problem is the girlfriend does notice the little things like shifters. I could have it sent to my work, but I don't have the cash for it anyhow.... unless you want to buy it for me as a gift.:D

I love Alpine for audio. I've been using them for my last two trucks and it always sounds gread and lasts a long time. I've used Kenwood and Sony and never was real happy with them.

ive never ever heard good things about "jet" chips...did you notice any improvement?

I sure did! My engine light came on and now I have codes for left bank running lean and open curcuits for random cylinders.

Other than that, I did not notice a difference in performance or fuel economy. :(

Well I finally got the Alpine amp and P3 sub installed today. I ended up building a box that fit behind the driver's seat instead of the center conseal..... for now (that will take some more planning). I have to give the sub a 24 hour break in period so I figure after driving my normal amount for about a month, I can really crank it and rattle whatever I have left for marbles in my head out.
