88 buick
i just bought a 88 buick century for cheap cause the guy i bought it off of said it didn't run and that he was told that the timing chain was broke, i pulled the timing cover off, put new gears, chain, and dampener on it and i was putting it back together and the timing cover busted out along the bottom cause of the dumbass design it is, now i dont want to have to buy a new cover cause its about 200 bucks so could i just patch it up with some jb weld? im only going to be driving the car for a couple of weeks then im going to sell it so i can get some money to finish some of my other projects, would patching it work?
if it is alum, then jb weld will help if nothing else. Your just going to have to give it time to fully cure.
alright well i can let it sit for however long it needs to that isn't a problem, and im pretty sure its alum but its about a 6 to 7 inch crack on it
Put a little on the inside, try to get some in the crack (without breaking it), and gob it on the front if you can.
should have gone with a mopar. |
alright ill try that then, and i know i shoulda gone with a mopar lol thats why i bought the car though im goin to try and sell it so i can get money for my mopar
good idea
well i tried the jb weld, cleaned it up roughed the edges the whole 9 yards then i let it sit for about a day and when i went to put it on it did the same damn thing, but i went ahead and stuck it on anyways and good new is is that it dont leak... yet but of course now it still dont want to start, im thinking its the crank sensor or the cam sensor i have to go do some diag on it hopefully its somin small
