'73 Satellite Custom Wagon

The standard tire is 215/75-R14, and I can only find a Hankook Optima in that size (they're on it now, and not so great). I found trailer tires at tirerack, and it fits the description for what I want (durable, higher inflation, ect). It also says "not for passenger vehicles". Can anyone give me a good reason why I shouldn't get trailer tires for my '73 Satellite wagon? Thanks

YOU do not want trailer tires !!!! Standard size 205/75/14 . You might look for a 70 series tire 205/70/r14 or even a 215/70/r14. / G70/14 I have an Olds has 13" tires getting hard to find too..

I would go with http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Thanks -- that helps. If possible, I want a tire that'll give it a little more ground clearance (if possible). With people in the 3rd seat, it sits really, really low.

On a wagon I would bet you could put a 225/70/14 on it without any problem if you wanted it higher

So, if there appears to be plenty of clearance in the wheel well for a bigger tire, then can I safely assume a bigger tire will be OK? You had said that a 205 is standard, and I've got a 215 on there now with lots of room (see attached pic). I think I'll go with the 225.

Thanks again -- I know next to zilch about this stuff ...
