273/318/340 parts

I just bought a 1970 340 engine that is missing the oil pan, timing chain, timing chain sprockets, timing chain cover, damper, and belt pulleys. Would parts off the 273 or 318 fit?

yes they will. even 360, just not the oil pan off a 360 . the damper depends on if its a cast crank or forged, cast crank use a 360, forged use a 318 damper

mucho thanks

thanks a lot. it's a forged crank so I'll look for a 318's damper...

Somewhere around that time there was a change when the lower spout on the water pump and the timing marks on the timing chain cover swapped sides. My 68 318 has the timing marks on the right side, and the lower spout on the water pump on the left.Later models are the opposite, but I can't remember which year they switched over. I suppose if you already have a radiator you could find the right set up to match which side your lower radiator hose is on. They are interchangeable, just keep in mind that the harmonic balancer has to match as well for the timing hash to be in the right spot.
