451 cam help
Hello!
I have an 451 stroker with edelbrock rpm heads, and rpm intake with a holley 850dp, and hedders, at the moment a mopar 484 cam, i have 3000stall and 3,55. I test the car i a chassie dyno and it was only 407hp in the ingine , but i have run 12,50on the strip with et dragradials, the car weight is 3800 . Now to my wondering, i want 550hp+ so i am going for a compcamp hydralic roller XR280hr or? is it any body who can give me some tip wath i should do to get there. I use the car (Dodge Coronet 500-66) on the street and bracket.
Thanks Thomas Eriksson Sweden.

Chassis dyno made 407.
So 407 x 1.20 ( average drive train loss estimate, this aint exact science) So you are making 488 at the crank. Nice build!
And YES a roller will make more power all things being equal.
Dump the RPM and add the Torker... Retune that carb and see how she runs.
Good call with the added duration on the exhaust side for the eddie heads and same with the added lift. Your heads flow to .6 and you need to take advantage of that...BUT the 280 runs 230/236. Its small for your cubes and cfms. I have used the SB version in 360 and its mild cam
I agree with above. Search posts to see who has a similar combo and see if they like it.

I run a 534/536 roller cam in my 440. I then added some Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers so I am looking at about 580 final lift. I run the RPM Performer intake and I like it. You could also go with the Eddy air gap single plain high rise intake manifold.
