5th ave electrical issues

ive got an 85 5th ave with a 318 in it. having some electrical difficulties at the moment. when i turn the heater on it runs for a little while and blows the fuse for the turn signals. except the heater keeps going. any ideas? need to fix soon as its getting colder now.

Wow, that does not make sense at all, {leave it to the Craveman to come up with that} Anywho, can you tell if any monkey business has occured in the vicinity if the fuse block itself. [like extra wires coming out of it that do not look factory]??
I would change the flasher unit just for grins {hey its cheap}

check for continuity on the blower motor wires. Does the switch itself function correctly, low, med, high.?

Does it do it when you run the A/C. Yeah, I know I'm reaching, but ya gotta think outside the box. And x2 with Omaha.

Your heat control is cable activated. Move the "hot" - "cold" lever/knob to cold and see if it does it. the cable may be pinching a wire. Run the heat but run it with the setting to cold air. see what happens.

flasher unit is fine. turn signals dont need to be on to use. i tried moving the temp control and still blows. my car doesnt have ac anymore. tried running it on the other settings. it does work in low med and high. fuseblock looks fine. wth!?

Sounds like its time for the wire diagram. Do you have one ? If you do but are not sure how to use it share it with us and we can go from there.

no dont have a wiring diagram. thinking of wiring my turn signals from the main ignition feed through a fusable link into push buttons. under dash wiring is a mess! so many wires.

i put a toggle switch in the wire for the turn signal controls. when i need heat i turn it off until i need to turn then i shut off the heater and turn them back on.
