75 dart ????'s
Greetings all....hope to have a few questions answered. Bought a 75 Dart Swinger with original 318 but last owner put a set of unworked stock 360 heads and an Offenhauser 360 intake on it. Had valve covers off and noticed push rods scraping real bad. Besides putting the right heads on...318 heads seem to be hard to come by around here...how is this corrected? Also thinking about an engine swap down the road. Besides the obvious power difference and assumed same block size...340 vs 360... are there any pros or cons on either swap? As far as from a car or truck, early to late model, any issues here? Any suggestions on a vehicle from a wrecking yard for a donor engine? First Mopar so don't know much about this breed. Any and all help appreciated!

If I was going to build a "budjet" street engine, a 360 would be it.
318's are too hard to deal with without major issues, unless you have a lot of junk parts and need to buy pistons anyhow, because the 360 heads will drop the compression. 318's are limited for CID
Much easier to get more street torque out of a 360
340's are too rare and expensive.
360's are externally balanced, and you'll have to have a properly balanced converter or flex plate, or flywheel.
360 oil pans are unique, so you'll have to find one to fit, or "make" one. I have done this---cut the rear seal area out of an unwanted 360 pan, and morped that piece into a 318/340 pan
