Bad pick-up coil?

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and Mopar community. In 2005 my uncle bought a '72 Satellite Sebring Plus. He had the local Mopar shop fully rebuild a 440 which he dropped in and ran well. He got leukemia and passed away early '07. My aunt has now decided to pass the car to me and I've tinkered some over the past few months when I've been in the area. As the car sat for so long not being run, I replaced the fuel lines and filter aft the pump as there were dried to the core. The car has sat in a garage same from the outside elements. However I have a lacking spark problem. I'm getting 12v to the distributor but no spark to the plugs themselves. I can only diagnosis the problem to be the pick-up coil in the distributor has gone bad from simply sitting for a decade? I cross tested trying to get a spark from other plugs and still no spark. Only once did I did a spark while testing using the #1 cylinder. Thoughts?

Hi Ryan. Welcome here. Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Maybe I could help some.
You should check the resistance of the coil. While measure the resistance between the positive and negative terminals of the coil as primary terminal. Secondary terminal can be measured between one of the primary terminals and the large center terminal to the distributor.
Unconnected coil, primary should be around .75 ohms. Secondary 10,000 ohms. Or coil connected to the pickup, you should measure 150-900 ohms resistance between the primary terminal. If you have more, the pickup is shot.
Or just check the wiring. And check the connection from the pickup.

Is this a points car? or has it been converted to electronic Ignition?

This is the electronic ignition pickup. Seems better than when I did take off the distributor.

Check the ballast resistor to see if its working in the crank mode. If not that. Test the ECU. Box

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It'll be a month or more before I get back to Alabama where the car is.

The ballast tested good; though I was only able to test with the key on. I was diagnosing solo that day.
