Question Evans Engine / Radiator Coolant

I purchased a car and not knowing that it had 100% Evans in the cooling system, I added approx. a quart of 50 -50 water and anti-freeze. - According to Evans literature this is a No - No. - I called Evans Tech and asked if this would lessen the effectiveness of Evans coolant. I was only looking for ballpark info. The tech person would not tell me, instead she said "take a sample and send it to us". -- This stuff cost close to $50/gal, incl shipping. Obviously, I don't want to spend $200 to re-fill the system. -- Does anyone have info and/or comments regarding this ? -- Thanks

Magoo -

I've seen the ads for Evans, and my gut reaction is add all the water you want.
If you have cooling issues, look elsewhere - ie - find the real cause.

If you're sold on the hype, then yes, odds are you will have to do the full purge procedure.

Thanks -- I agree. - If the motor gets hot, and If their Hype is true, then with a 14lb cap, the 50-50 would boil off around 240 degrees, and leave the Evans. -- The motor is a Mopar 360 / 408 in a 69 Valiant Post Car. -- A fun street ride.

If you engine reaches 240*, you might have bigger problems the the coolant.

That's the problem with the theory. Their stuff may have a higher boil-off point, but the engine still isn't going to be happy with those temps.

I agree. - I don't plan on that happening. - It runs real cool - never over 200. - Thanks
