Hey everyone, I have a few questions on Ignition. Right now I have the engine completely built but I still need an engine harness and everything related to ignition. I saw an MSD Race kit for almost $1,000. I was wondering what ignition "parts" I need so I can price them out individually. I wish I knew more about cars, itd make it easier on all of us lol. I'd appreciate any help!

 

you will need a ditributor compatible with the ignition type (msd etc.)
a coil compatible with the ignition type (resistor or non-resistor type)
a ignition module, compatible of course.

If you use the MSD system, you can save some money and just use the stock magnetic pickup distributor that came from any mopar with a small block (except a lean burn distributor)
So with msd you COULD use; msd ignition box (6-A I would suggest)
an msd coil
stock smallblock distributor
(from a electronic ignition equipped
vehicle)
