seat belts malfunction and fuel gauge not working
I have a 74 Dart Swinger that has been all apart painted , dynamatted and put back. The seat belts do not want to come all the way out always fighting with them ( wife's car ) my son-in-law said the weights are messed up . Can they be adjusted ?
Second is the gas gauge will not work, they had it out of the car hooked up and it worked put everything back didn't work, so right now I have a gauge under the dash and I think a chevy sending unit.

Welcome Harry,
Take the seat belt out and give it a good cleaning. Make sure it works on the bench before reinstalling it.... If not check these out... http://www.seatbeltsplus.com/
As for the sending unit... Check the to make sure it has a good ground at the tank..

Thanks RacerHog, well I got 1 to work and the other will not cooperate . Sorry I havent gotten back sooner but my laptop gave up the ghost. The site you gave me has great deals on 3 point belts. There is other problems to look at , this is a total restoration everything rebuilt or replaced. This is my Wifes car and the plan is to drive out to CA to break it in.
Thanks Harry
Thanks Harry

If the gauge is still the problem, and the ground doesn't fix it, remember that some Chevy fuel gauges are electrically the reverse of Mopar gauges. You may have to replace the mechanism.

Sounds nice.... Food for thought... If you make it to SO-CAL... You might try to come when one of these two events are going on... Great shows... Spring Fling and Fall Fling...
