Torsion bar setups/adjustment

Tired of having to pull over and pickup my hub caps and having 80's throw -back rims under the caps I had the opportunity to pickup my friends 08 charger rims and tires for $60. They are 17x8 with 4.75 back spacing it looks like. I need to put a 45-17 tire on the front and get some chrome lug nuts .I dont mind big wheels as my car is just big, but Iam worried it will still sit up high like it has a lift kit. I have done some reading about the torsion bar setups on mopars and how they are adjustable. What is the best way to adjust them? Is there any tips or trick ? thanks for your time

The adjusters for the torsion bars are in the lower control arms. By tightening the screw you will raise the front end of the car. Sounds like you are trying to lower the ride height of your car. Be careful doing this as the bars are the springs on this suspension and do need to have some tension on them.If you back the adjuster off start with 1 full turn and make sure you do both sides the same amount. After adjusting, drive the car and bounce the suspension to set the bars. Keep an eye on the bumpers on the lower control arms, make sure you leave travel in the suspension. After you have your desired ride height, go to an alignment shop and make sure they can get your front end in spec. If you have it too low you might not be able to get it in spec.

It's pretty easy!
With a 17" wheel with a 45 series tire, you may be close to the stock diameter of a 14" or 15" wheel with a stock whitewall tire.
I just put some BFGoodrich G-Force tires on my daily driver, and the 245/45/17 and 275/40/17 are the identical diameter of 25.7"
So, I wouldn't make any adjustments until I knew that I had to make adjustments.
Good luck!

08 Charger?
What are you putting them on? I believe they are metric and not the same as vintage mopars. The reason for bigger rims on late model cars is to get a shorter side wall so as mentioned they should be close to stock height. You can put any size tire you want on it, just make sure the rims fit properly.
