transmission oil pan inside painted

I just purchased a new oil pan for my 4speed automatic at the local chrysler dealer and it is painted black inside and out.It looks real pretty but after I thought about it I questioned the parts guy about the black paint on the inside of the pan. He said the service department uses those oil pans too.
My concern is when (and if) the paint starts to flake off as paint sometimes does, its going to clog the filter and even worse get into the valve body which will be the end of the transmission.
Why the paint inside the pan?It seems very risky to me.I'm thinking of sand blasting it off or removing it some other way.

Does anyone have any experience with this?....?????

i would just put it on jack as you should change your fluid after about 6000 miles anyway but the paint they use is usually baked on and shouldn't flake but if id does im almost certain it will not interfer with anything but if you dont feel comfortable just as you say sand blast it off and you will not second guess yourself :D --- i change my wifes 02 pt cruizer pan last year and when i changed the fluid in july i dont remember seeing any flaking ---- also welcome to the forums , hope any of this helps you http://www.moparnuts.com/forums/imag.../eusa_wall.gif

Thanks CHALLENGER

Thanks for your input.I guess I was being a worry wart. The oil pan I removed was also painted and it was in use since 1994 with no problems.
I guess I lacked confidence in automotive paint (especially chrysler paint jobs) because the paint on my van is coming off in sheets. My guess is the oil pan paint is powder coated and maybe a different type than the van body.
Jack:)
