windshield wiper linkage for Volaré 78....

Hello, I'm searching for the windshield wiper linkage for my '78 Volaré 318ci, because I had a problem, my piece is broken.
I've searched on ebay this piece but I don't found it.

if someone can help me....

I've a typical three speed.

piero- your volare has 3 speed wipers with delay. the nylon bushing you show in the picture dries out, cracks and breaks off...this you already know. the nylon bushing is not available as a separate piece, it comes as an assembly attached to the wiper arm transmission (linkage). it is a replace only not serviceable item. this piece is found on other chrysler cars- 80-83 cordoba and mirada, 79 cordoba, 79 diplomat, 76-80 aspen and volare with delay wipers. i know, because mine broke on my 80 mirada. i could not find a used one, so i tried my local dealership- they listed 2 in canada, and i bought one. this was about 2 years ago. at the shop where i work, we just serviced a 79 cordoba with the same problem. when we tried to locate this part, noone had one. i suggest you search for one on the internet, maybe ebay. you could also try www.wiperman.homestead.com . he does not stock this item, but might be able to help you locate one- he is located in st. catherines, canada, but he ships internationally. good luck in your search.

Thanks you very much, it may help me in my search....;)

looked in the garage to see if i saved the package for the wiper arm transmission (linkage), so that i could give you a part #, but no luck. i know a couple of guys who have j body mopars, but haven't had a chance to talk to anybody to see if anyone has this part. guess you want to find a part closer to home. i had another idea...can you get a magazine called mopar collectors guide where you live ? they have monthly classifieds, lots of cars and parts. you can find them online. if you really get stuck, you can make a part to replace the whole nylon bushing setup- delay won't work, but at least you'll have wipers. is this car a daily driver ? you didn't say. post some pics of your car if you can.

I don't know this magazine, which doesn't exist in France... And my car's not a daily driver...

too bad you can not get mopar collectors guide in france. they do have a website (www.moparcollectorsguide.com), but i do not know if they have online classifieds or not. do you have classified newspapers like auto trader? i know that you already thought of all this stuff, i just wondered what resources you have in europe when you are shopping for parts for older US cars. thanx for sending pictures of your car- it is a beautiful, clean, straight looking machine. i only just got my first computer about 2 months ago, so i don't know how to post pictures yet but i plan to post some pics of my car too, once i know how. i had one more idea to help you search for the part you need- if you can get car magazines like car craft or hot rod, they advertise big wrecking yards in the states that have older cars, and who ship internationally. hope you get a lead on the part you need for your car.

i would say check your local junkyard but then i saw you live in france. probably not many volares there. but most cars of that era had the same wiper design.

Piero 11-23-2006 04:36 AM

Yes there isn't many Volaré in France, but normaly this wiper system is the same than other Mopars in theses years. But it's difficult to find this piece. ;)

joedirt77 11-23-2006 08:23 PM

this will not help you find the part you need, just wondered how did you get a volare in france? maybe someone on this site has this part?

Piero 11-24-2006 03:27 AM

I found my car on a web site in France, a man must sell it because he needed place. This car has been sold new in France in 1978.

volare

didn't know you could buy a volare new in france- do you see very many other chrysler cars? bet you don't see too many volares. you don't see a lot on the road around here- i only know of 2 in town and one is mine. any luck finding the part you need?

Piero 11-28-2006 03:19 AM

I think that in the 70's the only cars sold new in France were cars like Volaré, Valiant, Dart. But now we have a complete gamme of cars ( Jeep, Stratus, Crossfire, Caliber,...) .

mopars in france

do you see many chrysler cars at your shop? do you get to work on these cars?

Piero 11-29-2006 03:26 AM

I don't work in a Chrysler dealership, but in an Opel one (GM). Then I haven't worked on Other chrysler cars.... ;)

shop talk

worked with a mechanic who found a job posting on the internet for a job in australia at an opel dealership. he said they worked on a lot of buick 3.8 litre engines. this is a mopar site, so enough about that. do you have plans for any upgrades to your volare?

Piero 12-06-2006 10:41 AM

Yes, in a first time I want to repair the little things wich don't work very good, wipers and electrical windows, and repair the body ( little rust). And I've got a project, prepair the engine with performance parts, put chrom wheels (like a muscle car) and paint my car in blue...

joedirt77 12-06-2006 08:22 PM

sounds good.
