Mopar wins Stock Eliminator
Gilley Goes All the Way with Mopar Power in Stock
Eliminator Class at Vegas
Larry Gilley of Hilmar, Calif., drove his 1969 Dodge Dart to the event win in Stock Eliminator at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 18.
Gilley was nearly perfect off the starting line with a .001 reaction time in his final round showdown with Mick Alley. Gilley’s elapsed time of 11.396 seconds earned him the win, the second Wally Trophy of his career with Mopar power. His first came in his Dart at last year’s NHRA Sonoma event.
"It was a great day, and the car ran awesome. It was on a string all day," said Gilley of his Dart, powered by a Mopar Performance 340 engine. "I’ve been running Mopars my whole life. The Mopar Contingency Program is excellent, helping racers who run with Mopar parts."
