1968 440 block markings -S (Special)
Hi-
Block = PT 440 S 24690503 The PT is Trenton Plant 440 = 440 CI Motor S = Special Motor 2469 = May 1st, 1968 0503= Last 4 of Vin Can anyone tell me what Special Motor means? |
i only have two 1967 factory service manual, one chrysler, one dart,coronet, charger. i found no info on the letter S. at first i thought the S-special meant HI Performance. but i found this on the internet.

are you sure it is not a 5 ? 440-5 means that the casting mold has had 5 parts replaced during it's life

yep lynn has a good idea. i remember on the old 392s counting the clock arrows for casting thickness.
