383 Stroker - Help with it all!

Hi All,
I want to build a 383 stroker.
I can't afford to buy a stroker kit which is into the thousands.
I am hoping to buy components as I afford them.
I have the block, bored out ready to go.
I have nothing else, just the block, attached to an engine stand waiting for me to do things as I get them.
Can someone please take the time to write down the first 3 things I need to do or buy.
Also, I know that I need to buy a 440 crankshaft. But have read that seeing as the 440 crank is from an RB block, and the 383 is a B block, there is some machining to be done. I am from Victoria in Australia and was wondering should every machine/performance shop be able to do this job?
Thanks heaps guys, would appreciate the advice a lot.

Buying it piece meal is a bad idea. Get a kit so every thing is compatible & works together. As aw as the 440 crank in a 383 block You need clearances for the big end of rods on the block and cylinders and need to check the oil pump clearances

Thank you TVLynn.
I will heed that advice and start saving up.
If you had 3 choices could u tell me some good brands to go looking for online.
Thanks again mate.

I just did a 512 stroker in a 400 block. It's actually been going in the car this past week. It ran on engine stand and did well. I got the entire rotating assembly, crank, pistons, rods rings bearings, the crucial stuff to go together from 440 source. They were great. I would say save up and get a kit like that from them or someone else that can be trusted and then have someone really knowledgeable on mopars put it together if not yourself. It's lots of money up front but more economical in the long run.

Good luck!
